Accessibility

Neighborhood

These are winding mountain roads. Many of the best attractions are spread out. The park is gorgeous, but it takes time to navigate for first-time flat-landers. There is generally no cellphone service once you're in the park, so be prepared with maps or screenshots. There are no cabins inside the park other than the ones you may pass on certain hikes that are 100 years old and not inhabitable. It's been a national park since 1934. ★ DRIVING DISTANCES ★ * Pigeon Forge Parkway & Dollywood - 4 miles * The Island Amusement Park: 6 Miles * Titanic Museum: 8 Miles * Gatlinburg, Anakeesta, and Ober Mountain - 11 miles * Great Smoky Mountains National Park - 14 miles * Cades Cove - 30 miles (1 hour and 19 minutes drive). The loop at Cade's cove is 10.6 miles. Drive it, rent a bike at the start and bike it, or run it. It is closed to cars and open to runners and cyclists Wednesday and Saturday mornings until 10:00 am early May to late September. Gorgeous views, wildlife, and a pretty good chance you'll see a bear. * Clingman's Dome - 33 Miles (1 hour drive). There are plenty of amazing hikes at Newfound Gap on the way up such as Andrews Bald and "The Jump Off" and more hikes in the Clingman's Dome area. Those less adventurous should, at the very least, check out the observation tower at Clingman's dome. * Wears Valley Rd - 13.8 Miles * The Apple Mill Barn - 8.8 Miles * Tanger Outlet Malls - 9.1 Miles * Neyland Stadium Knoxville - 42 Miles (1 hour drive) Hikers! Please search Hiking In The Smokys on the web.

Guest Access

★ GETTING TO THE CABIN ★ * The roads are paved the entire route * The cabin is located on the ridge of Shields Mountain. The main road to get there will be winding and narrow in places (still room for two cars to pass each other). While some may be a little nervous on their first drive up, they get used to it and agree that the view is well worth the drive! * We're at the top of the mountain from where you get to enjoy the beautiful view. On average, it may take 10 minutes to get to the nearest supermarket/grocery store, so plan accordingly * 4-wheel drive is NOT necessary, except maybe in icy conditions ★ PARKING ★ * 2 vehicle maximum * We do not advise bringing a trailer behind your vehicle due to the narrow winding mountain roads and lack of space to park a long trailer/vehicle combo ★ ACCESS ★ * Access to the entire cabin except for cleaning closet and crawl space storage * The maximum number of people staying at the cabin 6 total including adults and children ★ POOL ★ * The community pool (shared by guests of all cabins in the resort) is within walking distance from our cabin. * The pool is open from late May through September from 8 am to 7 pm daily * No gate code or wristband required to access the pool

Staying at Carlos and Rachel’s Airbnb was truly a blessing! From the moment I arrived, I felt peace in the atmosphere. It was more than just a stay; it felt like a place covered in God’s presence. Everything was clean, organized, and beautifully set up with such care and intention. You can tell they operate in excellence and hospitality from the heart. The space was exactly what I needed - restful, quiet, and refreshing. Sometimes God knows just where to send you to reset, and this was that place for me. Carlos and Rachel, thank you both for being vessels of peace and creating an environment where people can truly rest and recharge. May God continue to bless your home, your hands, and every guest who walks through your doors! 🙏🏽✨

We felt right at home, relaxed and watched the TN game most all of one day. Enjoyed Dollywood that was only 2.3 miles away I believe . Beds were comfortable and soft . Fireplace was a nice aesthetic. Views were gorgeous .

Carlos and Rachel were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The communication was quick, the cabin was beautiful, and we thoroughly our time here. Would recommend for anyone who wants to experience the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area while still being off the grid a bit. Thanks so much to them for a great vacation!

This cabin was beautiful and we had an absolutely amazing weekend there. The kitchen had everything we needed and the hosts were so helpful with any questions we had! We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to the area!

As far as the mountains go, the journey to this cabin is effortless. The driveway is a little steep, but if you've been to the area before you'll have no trouble. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is not required to reach the cabin. It is possible that 4-wheel drive may be needed in inclement winter weather. Or just stay in the cabin and watch the snow melt. We do not offer refunds for weather. While snow is rare, our winter guests hope for it as it makes the mountains more beautiful.
